For whatever reason, I can't seem to sign into my old blog, Ramblings from the Lair. So since I have decided to start writing again on a somewhat regular basis, I gave in and started a new blog site. Take THAT, Mr. Murphy. Nyah!!! (referencing Murphy's Law)
I gave up my position as editor of the mental health newsletter, The Recovery Express, due to a VERY hostile work environment. But Shannon came through and got me back into the swing again.... I am now editor of The Faces, a newsletter dealing with substance use disorder and addictions. I feel like I am me again. I knew when I gave up the Recovery Express that it would be difficult, but I wasn't truly prepared for how much it would change my life and outlook. Thank you so much, Shannon, for getting me back on the bandwagon! My personal experience with addictions is all second-hand, but that's an important viewpoint to bring to the table. And in learning from others on the staff with first-hand experience, I hope to share that knowledge and new outlook with readers that come from my demographic. These newsletters are not meant to be solely for those suffering from the topics contained in them, but for the other people in their lives as well. Educate and support, that's our motto.
This blog will continue to be a rambling of what is going on in my life; my thoughts, experiences, hopes and dreams and laughs. So sit down, have a cuppa, and enjoy the ride!
Lyn you REALLY should perhaps connect with my friend Rossetta Eldred. :-} I love you both!
